A darts setup depends on visibility. Players need to see the board clearly, stand comfortably at the throw line, and update scores without stepping into a crowded lane.
Light the Board Evenly
Use focused lighting that reduces shadows across the board. Avoid placing bright light directly where it creates glare for the person throwing.
Keep the Throw Lane Open
Furniture, bar stools, storage, and traffic paths should stay out of the lane. The area should feel easy to step into and easy to clear between turns.
Place Scorekeeping Nearby
Scoreboards work best when they are close enough to update but not directly in the throwing path. Keep markers and erasers in the cabinet or a nearby organizer.
Protect the Wall Around the Board
A cabinet or backboard can help define the darts area and make the wall look finished.
