A dartboard setup works best when the approach is easy to read and separate from normal room traffic. Before mounting equipment, look beyond the wall itself and map the full lane players will use.
Check doors and walkways
Avoid placing the throwing lane across a doorway, hall opening, or route to frequently used seating. Open nearby doors fully to see whether they enter the lane. Keep spectators and storage to the side rather than behind the player.
Leave useful side clearance
Cabinets, scoreboards, and dart storage should be reachable without narrowing the approach. Protect nearby finishes as appropriate for the room, and follow the equipment manufacturer’s mounting and distance instructions.
Make the lane easy to reset
Use a clear floor marker or removable mat suitable for the flooring. Keep darts stored at the board when the setup is not in use, and return movable furniture to positions that preserve the lane before play.
